The FASTCOM: ESCC-104 adapter
is one of the most advanced synchronous communications
adapters
in the industry. The FASTCOM: ESCC-104 supports data rates
up to 10 Mbits/s¹. The
FASTCOM: ESCC-104 is a dual channel adapter, with each
channel individually
configurable to use HDLC/SDLC, ASYNC, or BISYNC protocols.
Although similar to the HSCX, the ESCC-104 expands
on the
HSCX giving options for:
- CRC generation either CRC-32 or CRC-CCITT polynomials
(CRC-16/CCITT for BISYNC)
- CRC reset state all 1's or all 0's
- Manchester line encoding
- FM encoding (Bi-Phase Space/Bi-Phase Mark)
- Preamble transmission (with repetition)
- BISYNC operating mode, receiving and sending
BISYNC formatted data
- ASYNC operating mode, receiving and sending
ASYNC formatted data, in true asynchronous (no clocks,
data over sampled) or isosynchronous(async data format
with no over sampling)
- True 16 bit data path to FIFO's decrease bus
overhead and timing requirements for higher baud rates
- Both 8 and 16 bit DMA channel selections for
high throughput high megabaud communications
- Interrupt only operation where system resources
are scarce, and very high speeds are not necessary
- Software drivers are included for Windows 2000,
XP, and Linux kernels 2.4 and 2.6
The FASTCOM: ESCC-104 is also available
in extended temperature, model FASTCOM: ESCC-104-ET.
We recommended that you use our Fastcom: LT1 PC/104 Bus termination adapter with our Fastcom: ESCC-104 adapter to improve your system's reliability. |

¹While
the Fastcom: ESCC-104 will operate on any clock rate from
1 to 10 MHz, It is still plugged into the ISA bus which
will limit overall throughput to a aggregate total of 16
Mbps. What this translates to is that the board will clock
data in or out at 10 Mbps but due to bus limitations it
cannot run full duplex with continuous data at the maximum
clock rate. It can however run non continuously at the maximum
clock rate (either half duplex or forced idle time), or
continuously at a slower clock rate (1-4Mbps 2 channels
full duplex). |
